Mod Video Tutorial
Since I think we can rule out video hosting websites as a fad now, I thought it would be nice to include a field to put a video tutorial that would embed in posted modification threads. Doesn't have to be a bunch of sites. Just YouTube. Whom I also believe we can rule out as just a fad. Could appear somewhere at the bottom around Screenshots and Attachments. I know a lot of developers have been doing that lately. Maybe give us the option of putting in more than one, say for something like the YAFB modification needed. One video for install and another for usage. Just a thought. (Okay, another thought.)

oh boy, we open the site to the load of crap people will post to advertise their stupidities...
how many guys really create tutorials on video for their hacks?! ... how many worth it anyway... not much... |

Probably less than a third. That's actually the reason I mention it, because they probably should and would do it more often if there was field for it. Most devs don't always type up an FAQ, and I think it would cut repeat and unnecessary questions down by a bit if one can say "Did you watch the video? It explains it there." Not really much to moderate there that isn't already moderated regularly.
Also, obscure music set to Window Media Slideshows. What's not to love? |

This is a much missed feature on vb.org ... I support DJ's suggestion.

Well it may not be for people who are very familiar with vbulletin, but it can be of great help for those who are not.
For instance, When I was unfamiliar with vB and wanted to set up a local test installation, I read an article here on vb.org on how to do that. However I was still not able to do that properly and made some mistakes and got stuck. Then I searched youtube and found good videos on how to install vbulletin and those made it perfectly clear to me. Now I do understand that the vB Gurus would like to laugh this off but for a lot of people videos would be the most effective medium for teaching something like this. |

I have found that new users really like videos. They like to see that the instructions really do work and a video will show them this. And then, there are those that just prefer to see things rather than read them.... The OP asks for a field to input a video url, but what about just the youtube bbcode? Wouldn't that help out?
