Have spent a wee while on here now... Excellent layout.
I am in the middle of changing from UBB to VBB and was looking for user avatars.. can anyone point me in the direction of this hack?

Ummm, they come installed as standard with vB v2.2.1

Unless you mean the actual pictures themselves, of course. None of those come with the app.
