Well I beleive it shouldn't do to much, but I beleive depending on the type of install it puts your templates back to default, and then you have to load your .style file again. It can effect your hacks, if variables have been changed etc.. I would wait for someone who is more familiar with this to answer, before I would go ahead with upgrading..
I thought i saw a post that said that if you where not having prblems with 2.2.0 that the upgrade was not needed and no security upgrades were included, of course i don't know if this is true. I have NO probs with my board now sooo... but if there are security issues i will def. do the upgrade.

You are correct. There were no security upgrades from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1. If you do upgrade, your template mods will not be overwritten unless you revert any templates. If you have hacked the PHP files, you will need to hack the 2.2.1 files, too. If you use Beyond Compare or Araxxis Merge, this isn't too difficult.
