Yea I did quite a bit of research and got opinions for 3 different sites and everyone is saying about 900. Its weird, I have been designing forum themes for a couple years now and always have used either 800 or 850 for width. With this new theme i needed something wider because of the amount of content that is being displayed.
I could see in the future browsers creating virtual resolutions so that the browsers will ignore the users desktop resolution and they can use their own resolution that only effects their browsers. That would be nice because everyone would be using the same resolutions. I hope that something along these lines will be implemented. It would save us developers so much heart ache. Of course i honestly believe that Firefox should be the only browser in the world. Developing these skins to work in all browsers suck!
