I'm having some trouble with my forum of late after doing a site redesign.
Some users are finding themselves being logged out after x amount of time. This x amount of time generally corresponds with the value set in Session Timeout in the AdminCP. These users have checked the "Remember Me" checkbox. Now, this problem isn't happening to ALL users, just some. And from my understanding, checking the "Remember Me" function would keep a user logged in indefinitely but that doesn't seem to be the case in this scenario. So, any ideas? What can I look for to fix this annoying issue? --------------- Added [DATE]1276229862[/DATE] at [TIME]1276229862[/TIME] --------------- Just to add to this.... My "Path to Save Cookies" is "/" and my "Cookie Domain" is "(blank)". My forum used to be in the root but is now in a folder called "community". Any of that cause issues? |

Ask these users to clear their browser cache and cookies and retry.

I have done this. They say that it fixes the problem for a while but the issue can resurface.

Create a new style without parent (new default style) and set this as default. Ask the users who have this problem to also set this new style in their UserCP options. Let them clear cache again and see if that solve the issue.

Just to follow this issue up, seems it's actually a bit more widespread than just me....
These all seem to be the same or similar problem over at vb.com http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...time-out-issue http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...ts-not-working http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...-Cookie-issues Very frustrating that vB.com just seems to be ignoring this problem. |

And what was the result with a default style?

The same thing. As far as I can tell, it's a problem with users having the incorrect salt due to the latest versions of vB not using your licence number as the COOKIE_SALT any more.
The only resolution I've found that *seems* to work is have all users update their password which updates their personal salt. |
