Allow Mods to edit User Titles?
I have looked all over the permissions in vbulletin and cannot figure out if there is a way to allow moderators to edit user profiles. Mainly user custom titles. I don't want users to be able to edit their titles but, I would like to give the moderators the ability. Am I missing something or is this going to require some modification?

Any one know? Is there a mod for this?

I don't think it's individually possible on a per usergroup basis. The only way of doing it (As far as I know) is by having administrative access, this means Supermod or Admin levels only can do this. Probably for reasons that Supermods/Admins can alter usergroups and change usernames, other profile fields etc which is something you don't always want individual moderators to have control over.

Not even SUper Mods can edit a user profile, only Admins.

Do you have the "Can access control panel (is Administrator)" option checked under Usergroup permissions?
I've just had a look through and can't find an exact button to enable user profile editing but Supermods on our forum can edit user profile fields as in edit the actual field names and types themselves as well as actually edit the information that each user has in their own profile all through the ACP. We (Supermods) have boxes in the AdminCP for 'User Profile Field' and also 'Users' the former allowing you to edit the actual fields and the latter allowing you to edit users input/data in those fields by searching for and then editing a chosen user. Hope that helps. |

I tried enabling the "Can access control panel" option for the Super Mods but when they go to the Admin CP, the user search nor the User navigation box is there for them. They have the user search under the Mod CP and can edit the User Profile but, there is no save button at the bottom to write any changes they have made.
On the Admin CP they have Announcements, Moderation, and Statistics & Logs on the drop down menus. --------------- Added [DATE]1268842402[/DATE] at [TIME]1268842402[/TIME] --------------- I figured out that adminpermissions.php needs to be set by the superadmin for each mod that has access to the Admin CP. |
