Since the release of vB 2.2.0, and John's statement that this will be the last update until version 3 arrives next year, I've decided to go ahead and start implementing a few of the more involved hacks into my forum (most of which require the addition of new tables in your database).
My question is: when the day vB 3.0.0 does come out, and I upgrade, will these database extensions and additions wreak havoc on my forums? Since I'm not a PHP or MySQL guru (:stupid, I worry about this... |

It's really hard to tell right now, mainly because no one really knows how v3 will be shaped and what will it have.
I suggest you live the moment, and install whatever you want! When time comes to upgrade, you'll need to work a bit more if the forum is hacked though, but I think it will be worth it. |

I dunno. considering how shaky the templates on my site are right now, I'd be wary.
I'm still even having trouble just importing my old UBB threads. |
