Costum page error
Whenever someone is not logged in/registered to the forums there is an "Unable to add cookies, header already sent." error on the costum page.
I just did exactly what was told in the first section of https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=98009 and I run 3.8.4 patch 2 with PHP 4.4.7 (but I expect it would be pretty much the same as with that version as I couldn't find any updates on it). If anyone could help me, an even more appreciated fix would be that the people in question gets redirected to the log-in page whenever they are not logged in. Thanks a lot in advance! |

Anyone please?
It's the very only bug I have to deal with at the moment but it's not quite a nice one. Thanks. |

To troubleshoot this, please remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true); If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. If your problem still exists, please create a new Style with no Parent set. Now browse the forum using this new style, do you still have the same problems? If you are troubleshooting login or guest issues, you will need to set this style as board default in the vBulletin Options. |

Thanks a lot for your help but none of it worked.
"Unable to add cookies, header already sent. File: /home/vhosts/magiciansthegathering.com/httpdocs/forums/chat.php Line: 1" I did exactly what was told in the thread. Isn't there another way to add costum pages which will definitely work and will be accessible for everyone? It's just that the template must be similar to the rest (and changes along with the rest if I would edit it). The only difference is the content within. If it would be possible to have a guest be redirected to the logged in system as well it would be the best! Thanks. |

If you have done all i said, then you can not get that error message.
chat.php is not even a default vBulletin file so you still have modifications active. |

The file doesn't contain any modifications on its own and I have tried it out with an emptied file as well (template only), still resulting into that error. The original file only contains an iFrame to a chat which is located somewhere else so that can't be the problem either.
How come registered forumers can actually enter it without any problems, yet guests get that error message while there are no permissions set at all? |

Okay, I FINALLY figured it all out.
The only problem was the BOM which Notepad added to the PHP. I used Ultra Edit to save the exact same file without the BOM ('UTF-8 NO BOM' is this case, but UTF-16 NO BOM worked as well) and it worked all perfectly. ASCI/ASCII did not work. I don't know why that is but at least the error is solved now. Took me about a week of headaches and trying! |
