Minimum posts before starting a new thread

Sorry if this has already posted in the forum, but I keep on getting a search error using the search term in the title(error is at the end of my post)

I would like to allow users to start a new thread in one of my forums (introductions) but for all the rest of the threads, I would like them to have a minimum of five posts before they can start a new thread. Almost all of the spam I get is from people starting new threads.

Do you know if this is possible, if so how? Thanks in advance for your help.

The search term you specified (a) is under the minimum word length (3) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.

If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific.

Try searching by removing the 3 letter word and then you shouldn't get the error anymore.

I seem to recall there is a mod where you need to make an introduction thread prior to making any other threads. Try a search on just "intro*" or similar.

I'v tried searching as well but with no luck.

Have you tried just creating a new usergroup for those with 5 posts and using the promotions to move them into that usergroup after 5 posts. Then limit the Registered Usergroup to only be allowed to post in that one forum.
