You didn't say where you were putting this code. There are some areas where you may not input html and if you do, it will not parse it for you since it isn't expecting any.

Its a mod its called Automatic Profile Commenter Iam sure it gets html codes because there are some othe lines which they have like this one below and its working unless if aim not undersand it well Hello {username}, Welcome to the {sitename}! |

Thats not HTML code, though. Those are variables. You'll need to ask in that modification thread if the mod author can make it HTML compatible or if they'll allow BBCode.
