Default I need some code done that will allowme to give free subscriptions HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

OK,

Here is what I need:

1. a subscriber box that isn't buried in the User CP. I want it on my CMPS page.

2. I want to be able to have am alpha/numeric code that I can hand out to people (advertisers) that will allow me to:
a. Still set up the subscription time length and do it as a free subscription if I want. I don;t want actual paying subscribers to know I am giving anything away thus the code.

This will also allow me to add my 4,000 converted paper subscribers in one fell swoop rather than having to enter them MANUALLY!

What do you mean by "subscriber box" exactly? I might be able to help with that one. The code one sounds complicated.

For some reason, Vbulletin.org is not forwarding post replies to my e-mail...And I only found that out because of your post to this request.

I'm not mad, just frustrated. I was thrust into this by the guy who told our company to buy vBulletin--then told me I was "on my own" to build the site, administer it, and run it. That was two weeks ago. At that time I had never seen the inside of a forum (not from the admin side) nor had I set one up. All that I've done has been done in the last two weeks. SO, I'm a little...um edgy.

In the past I've been able to get Quick Start books and the like but there is zero out there that I can find on vBulletin.

I'll look at the post on re-sizing tonight. Again, thanks.

As for the subscription info. I have 4,000 reader that want to access the site. I'd like to have a way to use a coupon box that would allow me to give them an alpha numeric so they can get in themselves without me having to enter 4,000 subscriptions manually.

I also wanted a subscription box that we could tie (somehow)i into our credit card deal. Keep in mind that I have NO idea how to do any of this and you can see why my frustration is high.

Please understand, I am a stranger in a strange land and no one seems interested in helping me learn the language.

Don't worry about it - just trying to help you out.

About the code thing - do you mean you want 4000 separate codes, one for each subscriber, or one code that will act like a coupon for anyone?

Sorry, I still don't know what you mean by "subscription box". I'm not really familiar with the subscription features of vBulletin, so maybe that's why. Do you mean the form a user would fill out to subscribe?

OK here is what I am thinking:

http://www.benzforum.com/forum/register.php

If you run thru the buttons on the lead page then hit the I've read all your la, la you get to a page that has a registration form.

Level of membership
Please select your level of Membership:
Free
BenzForum.com - 1 Year Premium Member ($15.00)
BenzForum.com - Lifetime Premium Member ($40.00)

What I'd need is:
Level of membership
Please select your level of Membership:
Free (basic site, no online magazine)
Legendary Ford - 1 Year Premium Member ($16.95)
Legendary Ford - Lifetime Premium Member ($40.00)
[ ] Coupon code

The code would be one I could use for my existing subscribers (one code to use for all of them) and our advertisers. I'd like to be able to change the code form time to time.

If I had that set up I would like to also control how long the membership is via the code, just like when they sign up and pay for a subscription.

I bet that is clear as mud. LOL.

If you can help with that, what do you want for Christmas? Keeping in mind that I'm flat broke

Jeff.

dude...you JUST joined here...you gotta learn to walk before you run. When I joined i new nothing...now...a YEAR later...im still a rookie, but can find my way around. Theres people here that can do just about anything....but its gonna cost ya.

My best advice to you, is this...chill out, rushing anything never turns out good. two, dont say stuff like the red highlighted bold around here. These people are more than willing to help out whenever/however they can...but you gotta chill out and ask around. See if anyone is taking on any jobs and offer to throw them a few bucks for hooking you up.
