hide/move old threads
Hello. I am looking for a modification that will make old threads (threads older than x weeks) unaccessible in some forums. This can be done either by automatically moving them, or just making them unaccessible to anyone but admins (usergroups that are allowed to see them).
I have PHP experience and would be willing to do this myself, I have only little to no experience with vbulletin much less vbulletin plugins, however. If someone could give me some pointers on how to go on about this I would be willing to contribute this hack to vbulletin.org |

You can hide threads which are X old.
Go into ACP > Forum & Moderators > Edit Forum > Default View Age (Default date cut-off for thread display). > The drop down list ranges from: Show threads from last day to show threads from last year. Its a vBulletin in-built feature, so need for mods =p. However, I'm not sure if Admins can access those. |

Mhm, thanks, but that's only a default. You can just change that setting at the bottom of the forum. I want my users to be unable to view these threads at all. As if they didn't exist, basically.

There is a mod which will move threads after x amount of time. Try a search on "move*" or "close*" or "auto*" or similar in "all mods" "titles only"
