Index New Posts in Search Engine Confusion
Hey guys,
I am confused about the "Index New Posts in Search Engine" selection. I selected all areas of the moderator section on my forum to not be searched by the search engine, I thought this would be safer and another method that non mods can't access the moderator section? ( The permissions are set that only mods / supermods / admins can see the admin section ) But I thought this would be another level of added protection Am I okay to enable index new posts in search engine in those forums, and then when moderators click "New Posts" button at the top only they will see the new posts from the moderator section? I would have for non mods to be able to see the posts from mod section in their new posts search. Thanks again. --------------- Added [DATE]1253232063[/DATE] at [TIME]1253232063[/TIME] --------------- Bump |

i dont know what this setting does , but it does not disallow certain forums from showing up in the new posts search like you would think it would

I posted in your other thread that if you had this option set to allow indexing and then you turned it off, it only doesn't index NEW posts - it does nothing about the posts that were already indexed.
