Enabling links in archive posts?
Hi, would it be complicated to alter the PHP that handles the archive pages (in vBulletin) so that users can click on links? At the moment any link found in a post in your forum archive is plain text and therefore non-'clickable'. Any thoughts?
Btw, before anyone says, I know the archive is meant to be light weight and text only, but I have a certain situation where I need to have links enabled. I know this will involve editing the core PHP files - which is why I'm asking in the programming discussion forum |

It's just one page /archive/index.php . You can find the relevant section around line 385 and then the output spit out around line 449. So, you can play with it and see what happens.

Thanks Lynne, I thought I had replied here a long time ago. Unfortunately I'm not that comfortable with PHP and therefore wouldn't know where to start with changing the code to enable the links to become 'clickable'.
Is there any downside to enabling links in the archive? I find we get a lot of users to our archive area and not being able to click links in posts must be frustrating for them. --------------- Added [DATE]1268072137[/DATE] at [TIME]1268072137[/TIME] --------------- Just to confirm I found the code: PHP Code:
