How tough is vB's security system?
Is the security of vBulletin tough? Is vBulletin forum a not-easy-to-take-down script? Let's say someone wants to kill a forum and tries to hack it then delete the information, will the hacker find it hard to hack? I am just wondering how tough vB's security system is.

It's the same with everything. Anything is only as secure as you make it. Your forum is as secure as your weakest admin. Your forum is also as secure as your host.
I also think this'd be a question for vBulletin.com. Check here |

Well, if you are looking at it in perspective of other forum software, I'd say it is more secure, that is, security patches are released faster than others as there is team being paid to make that vBulletin is secure.
So, as long as you upgrade, it is more secure than others that are developed for free/are done in spare time. |

use a proper vb valid liscence and always install the latest one with all ( Security Patches )
your forum will never be hacked , unless your hosting is on unsecured base |

Oh ok, thank you for your replies. I now have 3.8.4 with Google AdSense Integrated version.
@theFM, are there stuff that I have to install separately from vB? Ex. security patches? Aren't they automatically installed the time I installed the 3.8.4? @James, thanks a lot for the link. It looks very helpful for my question. |
