Anyone uses Google Custom Search?
Does anyone use Google Custom Search?
http://www.google.com/coop/cse/ Style. For a - somewhat high - fee you can remove ads and get the xml stream of the search results. That means, you can show your results anywhere like you want them to be shown. Speed. As the search will be at constant high speed as you know from google.com, that could be positive when you have a larger board. Results. In vbulletin search, the results are usually sorted from date. On Google Custom Search, results are sorted from "which is the most important web page". I was playing with the idea to take a look into Google CS, what's your opinion about it? |

I've been playing with it on my newer site (url in my sig). On the search pull-down, you'll see it. It is setup so that motorcycle-related searches yield better results than if one were to go out to the normal google and do the same search.
It is a mixture of the GTSearch plugin, and a bit of effort on my part. |

It's quite handy for public forums, will say that much. I completely recommend this for users' that are having load issues, as a replacement for the search.php method.
