What are some of the better ones? And are the majority hard to install?

A bit of advice: Wait about a week. You have just installed your forum, and need to give yourself a chance to get used to using the existing interface before you risk mucking it up.

Very true, thanks for the advice. But for when I do venture out into that, how tough is it for some of the hacks?

Some of them are trivial. Some of them are murder. One tip: Read the thread and see if there are a lot of support requests - especially if they are being ignored by the author. Stay clear of those hacks until you are a bit more familiar with the process.
The community bulletin one is a great one to start with. It helps build up your loyal membership and is pretty easy to install. Amy |

Where can I find that hack (what it's about and all)?

Always have a test site, and back everything up. For me, I make sure the hack is stable before even applying to the live site. For new hacks, I play around with it in the test site, and wait until many people have given feedback.
