Setting up sub domain for mobile, need help
I have posted this a few places and not got a straight answer, hoping some of you all can help a bro out here....
Things to know, this is a vB forum, and I am using VBSEO I have www.TalkDelaware.com, vbseo, vbulletin I want to have people go to m.talkdelaware.com and be the mobile version of the site....with a mobile skin and all. what is the proper, seo friendly, way to do this? if any? 1 reply elsewhere was to use the mobile detection hack. I use that now, it works, but i want a dedicated m. site for mobile users, i want them to be able to pick and not have the board pick for them..... I can set it up, and it works IF i disable "Include Domain Name in URLs?" in the vbseocp.....if that is ok and won't affect my SEO fine, I can do that, but i dont want to hurt my serps though.... please, anyone? -Chase |

If you want them to go to m.talkdelaware.com and see a mobile skin, which you already have, then you could try: Use a redirect and redirect it to the mobile style, if you already have a mobile style, the link will be something like http://yoursite.whatever/index.php?styleid= and then a number, depending on how many styles you have.
Hope this helps, sorry if it doesn't. |
