Well I have decided to move my forum from the forum subfolder to the main root of the site so it loads at www.domain.com but I am not sure the safest way to do this.

Other than changing the path in vbulletin general options do I need to do anything else? I know there is a way to redirect people who have links to domain.com/forum to domain.com but I am not sure how so I was justgoing to put a 'The Forums has moved directly to www.domain.com' and call it a day.

Will this really hurt my rankings (I am still a very new site about 2 months old) and would I be better off leaving as is or is it something that will correct itself as the site is crawled again?

Basically I have just decided to get rid of vba for now which is why I am considering moving it.

What you can do is place a redirect at root in index.html
