User titles

Is there any way to create a hack or modification that would allow me to create user titles for male and female users? My site is based on the Wheel of Time books and more specifically the male magic users in the series. I don't want the women of the site to have to have a male user title.

I have set my forums up so that they can choose a custom title, but the user titles still show up too.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Steve, but not quite what I'm looking for.

I want it so that if the poster is female it will show the female user title, or if the poster is male, show the male user title. There would be multiple titles for each that would change as their post count changes.

I'm not sure how to go about it... but ti would involve at least three things...

First would be installing the gender hack (I know nothing about it, personally) so that user profiles indicate gender.

Then, you would need to hack the default title ladder to have two sets of titles... male and female.

I have no idea how to do this.

Then you'd need to edit some other files where the usertitle is set (I know ../admin/user.php is one of them) to check the users gender and then assign an appropriate title based on it.

I wouldn't know how to do this either.

I can figure out the algorithms, but don't know PHP to code anything.
