vbulletin_collapse
Hi,
Have done a search but can't seem to turn up any results for this. I'm currently restricting news users from seeing all of my forums because I don't want to overwhelm them straightaway and to stop them from spamming too much. Only downside of this is, they then tend to post in the wrong forum because they can't see the "correct" forum yet. Was wondering if there is a mod or hack out there that enables you to set the default vbulletin_collapse for a usergroup? I understand if the user has Javascript disabled then they will never be able to expand the forum category but I'm not worried about that. Anyone found or done something like this? |

You can set user permissions (forums) for certain usergroups, This will prevent certain usergroups from veiwing private forums.
You set this by their usergroup permissions so when you upgrade a user, be it manually or by post count or any other method then they will see it automatically. This took me a long time setting up on my forum, best to do when you've got few forums as opposed to 50+ But once set its fine you shouldn't really have to change it again unless you add new ones. |

A supplement to UKBusinessLive's post is this: Usergroup Promotions.
