is there a way to change the behavior of goto=newpost on some of my forums?

Specifically, my articles forum will cause it to jump to the last comment.... In stead of "last post" i really want "latest thread" basically...

What is wrong with giving the user the choice:
- Click on the thread title to go to the first post
- Click on First New Post to see new replies
