Do we have to update the "templates"...?
I've upgraded to the newest VB version. Now it says I have "7 outdated templates".
But when I revert them, the entire forum goes crazy. Everything's screwed. I think it's best to be left alone...? |

You can compare the template changes from within VB, compare your current templates to the updated templates. If its something major such as the security code on all forms then make changes to the templates.

I agree with RLShare.
Don't revert them right away. If your style is personalized and went through many edits, then you should definitely do a comparison, as it could affect the forum's appearance and functions. |

All I have ever done is save the templates under the new style.
i also keep a backup default skin installed that I only activate to compare between what my skin has and what the changes might need to be. I never revert. |

Not sure what you mean when your refer to 'save the templates under the new style'. I have two forums with custom skins, and would love to save some work messing with the templates on the next VB upgrade. Thanks! Jill |

I believe Schnee means that you would simply create a new style by going to your admin and style manager. You can also download the current styles you have, individually, and then load it again as a new style.

if you have upgraded from 3.6 to 3.7 then you must update, but if you are in 6 or in 7 then take it easy...
