Upgrading to 3.7 caused server load increase
Hi all,
I just updated to the latest 3.7 release (had 3.6 installed before) and experienced a (partially) massive increase of the average server load. Of course, there are several new features included which may result in higher requirements, but I didn't expect this increase to be as high as it is now. I'd be interested in some insights. Which parts of the board require the most ressources? Where could I start slagging off (right now, only the gallery is disabled)? I'm running a fairly big board (3M+ postings, 50K reg users) so even the smallest changes could make things better. My database server seems to be running smoothly, but the webserver is quite busy. They are located on two different machines, both AMD64 3700+, 2GB DDR2. The 'typical' optimizations are already done. Thank you for any comments! |

Are you sure it wasn't an unexpected increase in traffic?

Are you running xcache? If not install it and put your vbulletin datastore into it.
