Ok, when i restore a Database, the only thing that it brings back is like, the topics, posts and like sigs and stuff? it doesnt bring back things like images, and permissions and let say you were hacked, it doesnt bring back the vulnerabilities right? thanks again guys.
If im missing anything, can you guys please list here what the SQL file does backup? thanks. |

the sql file is what stores the vbulletin info like threads etc. IT doesn't bring back the vulnerabilities. That is the files itself

It will bring back everything that is stored in the database:
- Attachments (only the identifying rows, if the attachments themself are stored in the file system) - Settings - Products/Plugins (so if you where hacked because of a vulnerable plugin, the vulnerability will also be restored!!!) - Styles/Templates (so if you had a template vulnerability, this will also be restored!!!) - Members, posts, forums, permissions, etc... You can not conclude that restoring the database will not bring back a vulnerability based on the information provided. |

yes, but i upgraded the software to 3.7.2 so doesnt that mean that some of the plugins and so forth wont work?
