version 3.6.8 - Unicode is broken?
Hi everyone,
Just wondering anyone experiencing issues with Unicode? or non-English text? Basically our server team people and our side sat down and look thru the different variables why our forums doesn't handle non-english text properly. mysql database already has the correct configuration. We can key in the non-english text directly into mysql database and mysql displays it correct. eg: we view it via phpmyadmin, the text displays correctly. The data is keyed in via phpmyadmin and the keyed-in data displays correctly. from here we can conclude mysql/php is configured correctly. Next, we tried to use vbulletin to key in the non-english text by creating new post/threads. The results is garbled text. We look at the results in phpmyadmin - the data stored is literally garbage text. So we concluded that somehow, vbulletin mishandled the unicode somewhere. BUT BUT we seen some other big forums who are on v 3.6.8 but they do not have any issues with non-english text. what would cause this? Please advise. Thanks |

Start by checking the HTML Character Set in the options of your Language.
If that doesn't help please open a support ticket as troubleshooting this issue might need a lot of checking. |
