depending on the mods you have.. I upgraded my board and had 20 different mods. All worked perfectly but one, which was an easy fix.
And, before you upgrade, check to see if there are any 3.7 versions of your mods or if the 3.6.x versions will work. |

It totally depeneds what mods you have installed. Some will still work fine after upgrading, others won't.
Any mods you have installed that required manual template edits will probably need to be updated or re-done once you've upgraded. Try searching on vborg for 3.7 versions of your current mods. By this point a lot of authors have released a 3.7 version, especially if it's a popular mod. |

I suggest you do an upgrade on a test copy of your production forum first to iron out any problems with modifications.

Unluckily for me when I did check the template that I am using was not available for 3.7 so that caused me some serious branding issues, and half of my MODs refused to co-operate. I also have 20+ mods installed on my board and some of them are key functionality issues, it seems that most of them now have revised versions, but at the same time Im still going to wait for 3.7.2 or 3.7.3 to come along before I upgrade.... much like OS's I think upgrading to the latest before a "service pack" version comes out can bring its own problems. |

Also. Will your forum member be reset if you upgrade?

My advice: Setup a test forum using a copy of your database. Take notes of any changes you have to make during the upgrade. Once you have your test forum upgraded and are comfortable with what you need to do, apply the upgrade to your live forum.
edit: I guess I should have read the entire thread... this has already been suggested. |
