Default How To Ban People

Hey Mods, would you like to know how to ban someone on the forum? Well, I will give you a step by step instruction on how to ban someone with swift and guile behavior.

First you need to go to the mod tab located at the bottom of the website.

After reaching the mod tab you need to reinsert your account information
(For security reasons)

After relogging in you will reach a menu type page. This is the Mod Control Panel. It is somewhat like your usercp but, it gives you more powers and amongst other things. The Moderated thread, post, and users are none of your concern as we don't use those features here on the Black Sheep.
Anyways, the left column is the column that you need to use in order to use any features in the moderator control panel. For now, I am teaching you to ban so if you can please click the option "Ban User"

After you choose "Ban User" You will see the ban prompt. I am going to discuss its different features with color code. The boxes color will match the text information. If you are a little confused then just continue reading. If you are still having trouble, post your query inside this thread.

The black box is for the user's name. I am banning the user "Test".
Let me give you a scenario, "Test" has been caught cheating. He is a active user in our forums but, we do not condone to any cheaters. What do we do? We copy and paste his username inside the text box. Make sure that the name you are banning matches the users or you may end up banning the wrong person!

This little tool allows you to ban a user for however long you like. Whether it be a day, week, year, or forever. It is up to you to decide how severe the user's offense is. I would appreciate it if you would ban users who don't follow the rules for 3 days before you ban them for a week. I will also explain the infraction system before you go straight to banning. Remember, the infraction system is always the first choice.

The blue box shows the reason given to a user for why he is banned. It is MANDATORY for you to put a reason and why they are banned. You do not need to include your name inside the ban reason. You will see further into the tutorial why I mean so.
*Any bans without a reason will be lifted and you will be consulted why they were banned.

The Ban message appears like so

After banning a user, a prompt will give you the confirmation that you banned that user, for how long, and when it will be lifted.

After the prompt shows up, it will redirect you to a page where everyone (Moderator and Admin wise) can see who banned whom and why. Also they can see how long. If you messed up on a reason you can click the reason and edit it.

Keep That Ban Hammer Strong!
