Default Multiple Domains and Redirects...

Hi all,

I have been trying to get all of my domains and domain issues straightened out. Some information would be of help for sure...

I have been reading lately that google is changing it's policies towards multiple domains pointing at a single ip. I understand the fear of duplicate content etc and I also understand there isn't much of a benefit from doing this usually.

If you own a ###.com, ###.net, ###.org and you would like to link them all together I believe the best way is to redirect using a 301 redirect. Is that correct and is there still a chance of causing issues doing this?

I am also curious if domain masking in this case would be a wise choice or not?

My last question regarding domains- What does everyone do with their unused domains? Can anyone recommend a decent parking service or other option?

If this is the wrong forum for this question I am sorry....

Thanks...

Rich

Doesn't anyone have any opinions or advice on something that could be so important for your site?

Another question regarding multiple domains pointing at a single site- I am aware this could possibly cause some duplicate content issues having 2 domains getting crawled and both containing the same content but would masking stop this?

One more question, would this decrease keyword density?

I am in the process of making changes due to these very issues and I have decided to use subdomains and instead of having domains point at the site I will have them point at a subdomain...

For instance, I have a blog on the site that also has it's own domain. I wanted to integrate it into the site so that is why I did this. Currently the blog is installed into a directory and the domain is pointed at it... Is there anything wrong with this?

I know this site is aimed more at modifications etc but this is an issue that I am sure every site owner has to think about at some point...

Thanks

Using 301 ("permanently moved") redirects is the best method, as it tell spiders that URL A is really URL B, and URL A should not be used.
