FTP and managing vB questions
hi. i have a vB 3.6 forum and i was trying to add some mods, however, there's a lot i don't understand. but most mods are like go to admincp/something.php or something and replace admincp with location/directory or whatever. i know i have to use FTP for that but i don't exactly know that much about it. if someone could explain the general gist of it i would greatly appreciate it. also, does anyone have any good guides for using FTP and managing vB forums?

Read the 'readme.html' that comes with the hack. It really depends on which mod you are installing. Some are just import a plugin, then set the settings at: ACP --> vBulletin Options.
Some require you to make a few template edits, or upload a few .php, files ect. I use SmartFTP as my FTP client, and its never let me down. Regards Jason |

Check out the vBulletin manual http://vbulletin.com/docs it has loads of knowledge for you.
Also SmartFTP is a good free FTP program like Jase said and its pretty easy to use. |
