Not receiving activation emails
A lot of people on my forum are not receiving the activation emails. I don't want them to think that they are not welcome. Is there any solution/mod to improve this so that the activation email actually reaches the inbox of potential members? I don't want to rely on sending out reminder emails all the time.
Thanks! |

It might be disable through your options in your vb admin
or there might be a usergroup you 'have' that doesn't have the option to receive activation emails I believe its one or the other.. If neither of them are your problems, your server is a pain then Because sometimes a websites server/host doesn't send out emails if its cheapy Sorry to tell you this lol |

I sent some test messages to my Gmail and Hotmail accounts. It went through alright to Gmail but went to the Junk folder in Hotmail. Is there a way to prevent Hotmail from thinking it's spam?

Not until your website is big
There might be a very professional coder who might be able to pull some strings or there even might be a mod but ive never heard of a way to stop it from going to spam..sorry |

1. You need to read up on hotmail filter rules and find out why they are filtering your mail.
http://postmaster.live.com/FightingJunk.aspx 2. The filtering has nothing to do with whats set in a usergroup or in the admincp, you can disable email verification in the admincp though. 3. There is no vbulletin modification to get around why hotmail is filtering your emails either. 4. You can try the smtp options in the admincp as well. There can be a number of things that hotmail is looking at to filter your emails: 1. Incorrect PRT record 2. Invalid hostname 3. Invalid senderid This list can go on & on, its up to you to find out why they are filtering it. |

I've had them same problem, and came to the conclusion the mail provider filters it or removes it completely.

If the email was rejected totally by hotmail, you wouldnt get a rejection email back as your not sending it from a valid email address to start with, unless you have a dedicated box or your vhost provider sets up a alias back to a valid account of yours, you would never know it got rejected to begin with. They simply dont vanish, its the fact that you dont get the rejected return email to know why it was rejected.
