All users are getting errors! Including admins
Hi,
All users including myself can log in, but then appear as if they are not logged in and cannot post anything. When they try to refresh the page or post everyone is presented with: You are not logged in or you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: You are not logged in. Fill in the form at the bottom of this page and try again. You may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation. ---- Please help me ! my forum is www.northernneckforums.com --------------- Added [DATE]1202427117[/DATE] at [TIME]1202427117[/TIME] --------------- hmm.... actually I may have solved it. I think it was that I was logged into the admin control panel editing user options. Would that make vbulletin present the above message to users. Thanks! --------------- Added [DATE]1202427871[/DATE] at [TIME]1202427871[/TIME] --------------- Hmm... nope users are still reporting same inability to reply to threads and that after they log in they can see themselves logged in at the bottom of the page, but that at the top where it normally displays their user name and if they have private messages as if no one is logged in |

Can you provide a bit of information on the history of your board? Was it recently installed, upgraded, moved to new server/domain, etc..?

Hi,
Yes the board was recently installed. I think this may an individual computer issue, although it did happen to myself and 2 other users. The problem we experienced was when we try to log in sometimes we got online and other times we logged in, and then had th screen displays 'thank you for logging in' but then showing us as logged in at the bottom of the forum in the 'currently active users' section but not as logged in at the box at the top of the forum and then we are prompted to login when we try to post and do so, but are continually shown to not be logged in so that we may not post (still shown as logged in in current users section). Also, sometimes once logged in we were having a heck of a time logging out, with many refreshes needed. Currently from the computer I do most of my work from I also have to click refresh to see what is new on any page in the forum that I visit. Again, this was not the case when I tried it on another computer, but with any other vbulletin forum I visit from this computer I do not have this problem. But, so far it has only been reported to have affected two computers, but one is my computer and I do not have this problem from other vbulletin forums I visit... so I just do not know what it is. Thanks for your help |

Please create a new Style with no Parent set. Now ask those with this problem to browse the forum using this new style, do you still have the same problems? If you are troubleshooting login or guest issues, you will need to set this style as board default in the vBulletin Options.

I am also having exactly the same problem - (my thread 176916).
I have Cyb Chatbox installed (tried disabling it for a longer period of time), and will try the style thing after checking the results of disabling the mod. Did the style solution work for you, or was there a different solution? |
