How to forbid users to download a certain type of files?
Hi All,
I don't want the regular users to download a certain type of files from the forum, such as .png, but allow them to upload it and download other types of files. Could you please tell me if I could do this? In addition, it will be better if some appointed user groups are able to download this kind of files , such as Modertators and Administrators. Thank you! |

Go here: AdminCP > Attachments > Attachment Permissions
There you can setup specific permissions per usergroup per file type. |

Thanks Steve!
It doesn't work though. If set to no, then the specified usergroup will not be allowed to upload this attachment. But what i want is to forbid them to download the attachment. Does it need some code modification or not? Thanks again. |

Probably would need a code modification of some sort. I would do this mod for you but I am very limited on time right now.

If you only want staff to be able to download a file, then I'd suggest posting said files in a staff forum.

Actually, we have some customers who will upload their sample files to the forum. So we don't want other regular users to see and download those files.
