Default Quotes - Why does it autmoatically remove spaces?

My problem is very simple. Let's say I type the following code:

Quote:
[quote.]How are you?[/quote.]

I'm fine, thanks!

If I press "Preview", it automatically changes the code to this:

Quote:
[quote.]How are you?[/quote.]I'm fine, thanks!

As you can see, it automatically puts the text on one line. This is annoying because some people like to add spaces to make it easier to read.

Why is it doing this? Thanks.

The removal of line breaks is not normal, it shouldnt be stripping the line break away.

@kiff, is this a custom quote system your using, meaning modified code to display the quote format?

No, if you look at his post, it shows in the 2nd example that its removing the line break after he previews it.

I would suggest posting in that thread and asking for support on his custom coding.

I see nothing wrong with the code, i even tested it on my dev site, are you sure you copied his coding correctly?

If he isnt supporting his hack, then that will need to be addressed by vbulletin staff, but it does function fine for me.

He answered me now, but it was second time posting the question. He said it was working fine for him, so he doesn't know what to do.

But I just realized, it's not just quotes. It's my bbcode in general! Even if I use other tags, it automatically puts it on one line. For example:

Quote:
[.code.]Testing[/code.]

Testing
automatically changes to this after I press "preview":
Quote:
[.code.]Testing[/code.]Testing
So it must have something to do with editing interface in general. Any ideas?
