HS Class Of...
So I run a small forum for county-wide local discussion (http://www.lewiscountybuzz.com/), and it's doing pretty well since being started in September. Every once in awhile I'll add a new feature to it, which is never a problem. But now I've run into one.
I'd like to add a new field (or possibly several) for choosing the local high school and graduating year for members to input. What do you think is the best way to do this? I could easily just make a single text line, but then I would have people inputing stupid things in there, as we've all seen (it would essentially be another user title). I guess I could do a drop down with all of the local high schools. But that limits my users from just selecting those options (I, for example, didn't graduate from any of the local HSs). The year graduated would be an easier list, of course, because it's universal. Ultimately I'd like it to display in the postbit along the lines of "Centralia High class of 1968" ([fieldA] [if]class of [fieldB][/if]), maybe even with a small icon (I can do that up) similar to the world-flag mod. Does anyone have any suggestions on how they would do this? I would really appreciate some help from other vB modders. Unfortunately my co-workers and bosses aren't familiar enough with the software to understand what I'm attempting to do. |
