www kills my user's logins
I registered my site as mysite.com (since the www is pointless these days) but some people never lose the www habit.
In the ACP under "Forum URL" I have it listed as http://mysite.com/forum When they try to access my site from www.mysite.com and try to log in it gives them the "thanks for logging in" message, but then it defaults back to them not being logged in, and no matter how hard they try they can't login as long as they use the www in front of the domain name. I added www.mysite.com and mysite, com to the "Post Referrer Whitelist" in the ACP, but it doesn't seem to help with that issue. Nobody has any issues that I know of logging in via mysite.com, but if they add the www in front it causes all kind of problems. I realize that the easiest thing is to tell people to login without the www, but not everyone listens to that or realizes that the www is redundant. Does anyone know how I can fix this? |

You may use .htaccess to fix this. Just redirect all users who put www in front of the url to mysite.com

Or set your Cookie Domain to .mysite.com (leading dot).
