Altering Reputation Formula
The core formula for reputation in the boards is that if a post is being rewarded, it counts for full point value of the person giving it.
If it's a negative comment, it counts for half that value. That's hard-coded somewhere on the boards. How can I change that? I want them to be equal. I might even want the positive comments to be worth less than the negative ones one day, for reasons I won't bore you with. Can anyone tell me where I mod this at? |

We have completely modded reputation so that it assigns a law/choas and good/evil component, so it is possible.
There is a reputation.php in vb which handles all of this, and it comes with a few templates. I'd recommend having a read through this file, and then select a hook in which to create a plugin if you don't mind code living in a database field, or be a Real Man (tm) and mod the file directly. |
