Hi,
I apologize if this in the wrong section. I am a moderator on a large forum that runs vbulletin and I am trying to help the admin optimize the board for faster usage. I have been searching for a list of redundant search terms that can be added to a list of keywords that will be ignored when a search is performed for them. Words such as "what", "how", "when", etc. I've searched the forum here, but I haven't been able to come up with such a list. If anyone has a link to one I would appreciate it. Thanks, pogue |

Hey poque,
Login to Admin CP, click on vBulletin Options Menu, click on vBulletin Options. In the menu that loads in the right page, click on Message Searching Options. Look for the option "Words to be excluded from search". Problem solved. Thanks for posting! |

Most of these words are already excluded. If you use the built-in search, you can see them in searchwords.php. If you use fulltext search, the default stopword list is available on MYSQL's site.
