Remove catagory Icons

How would I remove the icons next to catagorys that let people know that there is a new post, or if its old, or closed? And also remove the icon legend at the very bottom?

for the icon legend, you have to edit forumhome and forumdisplay templates, find the block called "icon keys" ... in the bottom for sure.

for the category icon, they are in the forumbit_xxx templates, first element of the second td tag...

Mind explaining a little bit more, haha, I tried and couldnt get it, what exactly am I looking for?
