How can I exclude latest threads from a hidden forum showing on the latests new posts ?

Threads that are from a private forum should only be viewable by members or usergroups that have permission to view them even in latest threads, as long as forum permissions have been set up correctly.

But if you want to stop it for everyone, then you can try this hack for v3.5.x, several people have said it also works fine with v3.6.x as well - Opt-Out Forums from Get New/Get Daily.

It will give you this option in your Forums Permissions Manager in the AdminCP - Can exclude Forums from "Get New Posts".
