User Account Merging
A tool which will merge multiple user accounts into one account.
Ie after a site merge with impex we have alot of "imported_" users where they now have two accounts...could someone possibly write something for this or explain how it wouldbe done. |

What if they have the same username. How would you do that?

You can't have the same username. It'll decline if a username exist in the database.
Now, if you import from another forum, it'll be the same. |

if you already imported from another forum, it is impossible to have same usernames as they are renamed to avoid collides... and the logic requires that on the same forum it is impossible to have the same username anyway...

Not sure how I was able to have two of the same usernames, but I did. There were no importing at all, she registered both times. Some kind of fluke I suppose, but I did get it fixed. Thanks! |
