What does "Automatically parse links in text" mean?
Hi there
When you start a new thread, under Additional Options, there is a check box within the Miscellanous Options that says "Automatically parse links in text". What does this mean, and why would anyone do it - or not? Is this really a useful option to have in new posts? Can, and should, it be removed from new posts? Grateful for your thoughts Thanks ... twobob |

If it's checked then the link is live meaning clickable, click on it and it will go to that adress.
If you uncheck it then the link will just show up as text. Eg. www.vbulletin.org parsed www.vbulletin.org unparsed |

Thanks Pirate .... Is there any reason why someone wouldn't want to parse?

An example would be posting a parsed link to an illegal site.It links your site to the illegal site. |
