Help For Editor Toolbars Not Working
I have a pretty new vBulletin installation (about a week old) with a large database (1.3 million posts). Things have been going well since our import from UBB six days ago. So last night I closed the forums, did backups, ran the cleaner.php script to fix some old img codes, and installed two new products: vBSEO and vBadvanced.
For a while after the installation, things seemed great and I re-opened my forums. But then the members notified me of two problems: 1. They cannot click any buttons or use any menus in either Quick Reply or the regular editors. 2. When they create new posts, any paragraphs (line breaks) are stripped from their messages. I've tried disabling both vBSEO and vBadvanced to see if they were the culprit, but that made no difference. Right now I've kept vBadvanced disabled (not using it yet anyway), but vBSEO is still on. But I'm at a loss as to what my problem may be. Searches here and at vBSEO and vBadvanced are not revealing other board owners with similar problems. My only thought is that maybe one of my templates got messed up during the installations. I guess that would be the threadbit template? I'm not sure. Nor do I know what to fix if that were indeed the problem template. Okay, so writing all that down made me realize I should attempt reverting the threadbit template. I just did it and that FIXED the paragraph problem. But the icon problem on the toolbars remains. So perhaps that is another template, but I don't know which one it would be. Does anyone know so I can take a look at that one? Thanks in advance. My boards are at http://www.passporterboards.com/forums/ |

Sounds like you need to re-upload the clientscript folder. Give that a try.......

I just tried it. No difference. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Despite reverting my threadbit template, some members are still reporting problems with the paragraphs even though I'm not seeing problems in my own posts. The member reporting problems say that when they try to edit these posts without paragraphs they see the paragraph code wrapped around the entire paragraph, like this: Code:
<p>Test of paragraph. Test of paragraph.</p> I'm really stumped. I don't know what I did to mess things up so bad. :/ |

It's definitely a corrupted file. Try uploading in the includes folder this file.

I re-uploaded not only the file you suggested, but every other vB file (at support's suggestion). I also created a new style without a parent and tried browsing with that. No difference. I still can't use the editor toolbars, nor can any of my members.
I resolved the issue -- I had to delete the rewrite rules file that was uploaded during the vBSEO installation process. I wrongly thought that because plug-ins were disabled, that this would be disabled too. Silly me. Anyway, everything's back to normal. Thanks for the help! |
