Upgrading from 3.5.2 to 3.6.4
I'm looking to upgrade my forum from version 3.5.2 to the newest version... I'm curious what technical issues I might run into in the process? How difficult is it?
We upgraded about a year ago from a 2.x version to 3.x, and had a lot of technical issues, so I'm just preemptively trying to make sure I'm not going to run into any major issues in this upgrade. Any help/info is appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

You should remove all plugins installed in 3.5.2 first.
Upload 3.6.4 files and run upgrade script. |

Disable ajax, plugin to prevent your board crashing...also provide a backup incase anything happens...than upload your new vB 3.6.4 files and upgrade it..than look for updates on your modification you had on 3.5.2

Thanks for the replies so far...about the disabling of AJAX, is that a plugin thing, or is it a larger issue dealing with the server, etc?

Disabling ajax shouldn't be necessary.

I was thinking the same. Removing all the plugins? Thats like starting fresh again. What if you had 30 Plugins and your site was running off of that..
Id say just disable the ones that most likely wouldn't work up on 3.6 Or just disable them but don't remove them completely Maybe im wrong [high]* Shazz waits for someone to 2nd me[/high] |

Disable all the plugins, then re-enable them one-by-one after the upgrade.
