Log-out problem, related to flash banners?
I started using flash banners about a week ago and I think it was about the same time when I started having problems with logging out of my site. I'm not sure if this was just before or just after I upgraded from 3.63 to 3.64 so I'm not totally sure if the log-out problem can have something to do with the upgrade. The black&white screen would just hang and after a minute or longer I would get the OK alert window. I just disabled the flash banners to see if that solves the log-out problem. After that I tested logging out a dozen times and I didn't have the problem. I use WebAdverts as banner rotating script.
This is an example of the code that I add to WebAdverts for the flash banners: Code:
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="468" height="60"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.x.com/banners/rs468x60_autoedit.swf?linkingcode=100885&program=2&line1=WE%20ARE%20PROUD%20TO%20PRESENT&line2=IN%20ASSOCIATION%20WITH"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> <embed src="http://www.x.com/banners/rs468x60_autoedit.swf?linkingcode=100885&program=2&line1=WE%20ARE%20PROUD%20TO%20PRESENT&line2=IN%20ASSOCIATION%20WITH" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="468" height="60"></embed></object> Thanks. |

most likely it's your upgrade ...
TRY - remove the ad code from your site and see if the problem still exists - test the banner ad on a default vbulletin style (disable plugins) and see if you still have login problems |

If I remove the ad code from my site then the problem doesn't exist. I know now that the problem only exists when trying to log out while a flash banner is playing.
I haven't tested the banner ad in a default vbulletin style with disabled plugins yet. If it turns out that the problem doesn't exist in the default style then how will I be able to figure out what's causing the problem in the style I am using? |
