Help with placement of google adsense within forum?

I would like to install google adsense to my forum board like as I have seen on many boards between the bottom of my nav bar and the top of the posting section.

Which do I or should I use off of here? I ask as these seems to be so many!

Its in: Stye name > Forum Display Templates > FORUMDISPLAY

Doh, doh, doh, doh doh! It's sorted it was just far too easy, I was trying to make it complicated. However, I'm making progress But I'm having trouble with positioning, a chap off vbulletin gave me this

But, how do I say what color the border should be and how can a make a gap between the bottom of the ad and the new thread buttom as they almost touch?

I have made even more progress, I have got the border now, but I still can't seem to get a bigger gap underneath it, this is waht I've got:
