Help Getting Members

Hey guys and gals,

I have a couple of small sites (marinersmania.com/forums) and (seahawksmania.com/forums) and I'd like to get them up and running with more posters. Could any of you with big forums give me a couple of tips on how to get more people on my site?

Find sports boards, and other similiar websites and see if they will let you make a post about your site there.

Make posts with good content. Content will attract new registrations. Lots of registrations will attract new registrations. Win/Win situation there.

Advertise your site by either paying for a couple weeks of advertisement at some bigger site. Register it in some search engines, etc.

Free stuff and competitions with cool prizes will also attract member registrations as well.

Start posting at a popular forum and pm people there and personally invite them.

Make something at your forum that you can use to attract people from other areas of the web. I have a boxing forum and I will release my own personal rankings then I go to the most popular boxing forum I can find and make a post like this.

title: can you beleive this guys rankings

content: Post the rankings you made at your site and include a link from your site, they will let you do it because you are citing a source and not spamming.

basically this is how you gotta think oh yeah and then there the whole search engine thing.
