v3.0.1 + PHP + SQL
I've been experiencing some sluggishness on the forum for quite some time now. It would appear that most of the processing time for a page is from the SQL database rather than the PHP processing itself (other parts of the website (i.e. not the forum) are pretty quick)).
Could it be that the database needs a bit of maintenance, clean out dead space etc. What's the easiest way to do this and to check/improve other general performance of the forum? I'm running PHP v4.3.6, SQL v4.0.18-nt and Apache 2.0.49. Would there be any issues upgrading PHP, SQL and Apache as I'm still using vB 3.0.1? Any suggestions / recommendations appreciated. |

Run an optimise on all your tables via the option in the ACP.
