Storing CSS Files
I'm just getting started with vbulletin, and in the control panel under styles and templates, there's t his:
Store CSS Stylesheets as Files? - If you would like to store the CSS stylesheet for each style as a file, you must ensure that you have a directory called 'vbulletin_css' inside the 'clientscript' folder, and that the web server has permission to write and delete files within that directory My question is t his: where is 'clientscript,' and how do I find out if my web server hs permission to write & delete files within that directory? Thanks! |

You will find the directory clientscript at the root or top level of your vB installation. If you want to store your vB CSS as files, you need to create a new directory inside this clientscript directory and name it exactly 'vbulletin_css'. You should then be able to use your FTP program to 'chmod' or change the mode of the directory so that the webserver can write to it. This is typically done with the mode 777 but it is host dependent.
Hope this helps some. |

Ah! Found it! Thanks so much!
You'll have to forgive me because I am so new at this and so at a loss it isn't even funny -- but after I make the change, do I have to upload it to the server or what? Whoops -- never mind. I just read your psot again and I think you already answered my question. |
