New user promotion question
I'm having a problem with a promotion on my site, and I hope someone can help.
I have it set up so that new members have to post a thread in Introductions before they can access the rest of the board. I have the usergroup/promotions thing set up for it just like every thread on this subject suggests. The problem is that the promotion only gives the option for Greater than or Equal to. So really, they have to make 2 posts to get promoted to the group that can see the rest of the board. I'd like to make it so that they do only have to post 1 time to see the rest of the board. I've tested this and it doesn't promote with just 1 post. Is there any way to remove the Greater than part of that statement? |

greater than or equal to 1 would make 1 work...1 is equal to 1

But that's the thing - it's not. It seems to be taking the 'greater than' statement and using that rather than the 'equal to'. People aren't getting promoted by making one post.
And nevermind. Something made it work. I feel stupid now. |

strange...do you have any other things set up on accident in the promotion? like greater than or equal to 1 post, and greater than 10 reputation, or something like that?

I don't think so - it's just set at greater/equal, 1, posts, primary usergroup, and then the name of the next group. It does seem to be working now, but it was strange that it wasn't before, even after updating user ranks and waiting through a scheduled promotions update.
